A step-by-step guide to understanding the cost of a single support session before your tech arrives.
This tool tells you the estimated hourly rate for a specific support session before it happens. Because rates vary depending on your church's subscription plan, whether your monthly hours are used up, and the type of support needed, this calculator works through a few short questions and gives you a clear answer for your situation.
This calculator shows questions step by step. You will not see every question at once. Each new question only appears after you answer the one before it. Some questions may be skipped entirely depending on your answers.
Use the Church Subscription Lookup tool to assist with answering the following questions.
Navigate to the Hourly Cost Calculator page to use the calculator widget.
(Q1A) Select Your Church's Package
Use the first dropdown to select your church's plan. A short description will appear below the dropdown to confirm what is included in that plan.
(Q1B) Have Your Monthly Hours Been Used Up?
This question only appears for Bronze, Silver, and Gold plans. This question is skipped for Cobalt plans. Cobalt support is always billed at the overtime rate, so Q1C will appear automatically.
Each month your church receives a set number of support hours included in the subscription. This question asks whether those hours have already been used for the current month.
If you answer No — no additional hourly charge applies.
If you answer Yes — overtime rates apply and the next question (Q1C) will appear.
(Q1C) Who Is Responsible for Overtime?
This question appears when overtime applies.
When hours are used up (or for Cobalt plans), this question asks who will be billed for the overtime cost: the Church or the Church Member.
(Q2A) What Type of Support Do You Need?
Remote — A tech helps you over the phone or internet. No travel is needed.
In-Home — A tech comes directly to your home. This may involve an upgrade charge (for Bronze and Silver plans) and always includes a separate Dynamic Base Fee for travel.
If you choose In-Home, a reminder will appear in your results to also use the Dynamic Base Fee Calculator to estimate the travel fee. That fee is always the church member's responsibility.
(Q2B) Who Is Responsible for the Upgrade?
This question only appears for Bronze or Silver plans and In-Home support is needed.
Bronze and Silver subscribers: includes remote support only. Requesting in-home support is considered an upgrade beyond what the plan covers. This question asks who will be billed for the upgrade cost: the Church or the Church Member.
Gold and Cobalt subscribers: In-home support is already included in your plan. There is no upgrade charge for Gold or Cobalt.

Read Your Results
Depending on your answers, one of three results will appear:
Outcome 1 — No charge for this session.
This appears when your monthly hours have not been used up and no upgrade applies. Your church's subscription covers this session fully.
Outcome 2 — One party pays the full rate
This appears when one party, either the Church or the Church Member, is responsible for the entire charge (overtime and/or upgade). The label tells you clearly who pays.
Outcome 3 — Cost is split 50/50
This appears when overtime and upgrade costs apply and each is the responsibility of a different party. The combined rate is split equally between the Church and the Church Member.
In-home support requires a Dynamic Base Fee based on your location. This fee is always the church member's responsibility. If you selected In-Home support, this reminder will appear below your result. Click the link to open the Dynamic Base Fee Calculator and estimate your travel fee separately.
Session Summary
Below the result you will see a Session Summary that lists every choice you made, your package, hours status, support type, and who is responsible for overtime and upgrade along with the rate basis used to calculate your result.
